These standards guide the preparation and maintenance of Shadow Dossier coverage. They are editorial commitments, not a claim of a particular staffing structure or a past record of investigations.<\/p>\n
Identify the sources supporting a story. Prefer original documents, official records and direct statements where available. Attribute information obtained from other reporting and distinguish independent verification from an attributed account. Do not turn a single-source allegation, social-media reaction or prediction into an established fact.<\/p>\n
Label summaries and recaps. Distinguish factual reporting from analysis and opinion. Preserve the context and dates of older reporting; a recap published later must not imply that a dated development happened today.<\/p>\n
Headlines should reflect the article and the evidence. Explain material uncertainty, avoid unsupported conclusions and fairly represent the substance of a person’s position. Do not invent quotations, sources, staff identities or documentary evidence.<\/p>\n
Use images with an appropriate reuse basis, retain source and rights information, and identify archival or illustrative material. A file photograph must not be presented as an image of a different event. Clearly identify generated illustrative imagery if it is used.<\/p>\n
When a material error is confirmed, correct the affected text and add an explanatory correction note identifying what changed. Distinguish a correction from a later factual update. Minor spelling or formatting fixes need not be presented as substantive corrections. Retain original reporting dates when adding an update.<\/p>\n

Commercial content, if introduced, should be clearly labeled and distinguishable from editorial coverage. Affiliate links, if introduced, should be disclosed near the relevant links.
